CataSync feeds 7/7: Finnish price comparison sites onboarding (hinta.fi first)

Imported from GitHub issue El-SaMa/oma#251 by @El-SaMa.

Part of the Product feeds epic #250. Runs after #246/#247 are live. No sign-up, email or contract without the operator approving the exact text first (draft-before-send rule; send from the right shop mailbox with oma.admin_mailbox_send only after OK).

Goal

Get niletech (and later maxfort) listed on every relevant Finnish price comparison site, hinta.fi first, each with its own named feed under that shop (#246, one feed per site per shop).

What we already know (checked 2026-10-16)

  • Mail search (read-only doveadm search on Glama, all niletech.fi and maxfort.fi mailboxes, terms hinta.fi / hintaopas / prisjakt / hintaseuranta / vertaa.fi / pricerunner / kelkoo / tuotesyöte): the only hit is an internal mail from 2019-02-06, [email protected] Sent, subject "hinta.fi csv feeeeeeeeeed", to [email protected] with a CSV attachment. So niletech prepared a hinta.fi CSV feed in 2019, but no mail with hinta.fi itself exists in these mailboxes. The operator's personal Gmail is not connected to OMA and was not searched: ask the operator to check it (search hinta.fi).
  • hinta.fi (per its own info/FAQ pages, as summarised by search results; the FAQ page now returns 404 for direct fetch): fetches each shop's product file once a day; joining and price listing are free, paid extras exist (shop link, logo). Feed format: confirm with hinta.fi (the 2019 feed was CSV).
  • Hintaseuranta.fi: merchant agreement + product feed; generally paid (setup fee and/or per click).
  • Vertaa.fi: merchant agreement + product feed.
  • Hintaopas.fi (Prisjakt Finland): merchant sign-up through Prisjakt's business portal; basic listing vs paid placement to be confirmed.
  • Hintasi (business.hintasi.fi): registration form; XML or CSV with name, price, link, unique id or GTIN, image URL, category.
  • Google Shopping: free listings via #248.

Steps

  1. For each site above (plus any other active Finnish comparison site found, e.g. PriceRunner/Kelkoo only if they still serve Finland), write down from the site's own merchant pages: cost model, feed format and required fields, update frequency, contact. Put the table in the handbook (apps/web/content/admin-docs/products/catasync.md, section "Price comparison sites").
  2. Adjust each preset in #246 to that site's real spec (hinta_fi, hintaseuranta, hintaopas_prisjakt, add vertaa_fi, hintasi if useful).
  3. Create the feeds under niletech (disabled until the site accepts us); check previews with the operator.
  4. Gate before contacting anyone (operator decides): enough sellable products live and the markup/profit rules confirmed (CataSync supplier pricing + minimum profit settled, no loss sellers in the feed).
  5. Draft the hinta.fi request first (Finnish, from [email protected], mention the feed URL and that niletech sells computer hardware and parts since 2018), show the operator the exact text, send only after OK. Then the others in order of value.
  6. Track each site's status in this issue (contacted, accepted, feed live, first clicks).

Acceptance

  • Handbook table of Finnish comparison sites with sources.
  • Presets match each site's spec.
  • hinta.fi feed live and visible on hinta.fi for niletech (link in the issue).
